China ferrochrome import price drop on weak rupee

According to report, China's ferrochrome import spot price for high carbon ferrochrome from India dropped further to 83~85 cents/lb to China, a small decline from one week earlier due to the depreciation of rupee.

Currently the imported ferrochrome prices had dropped below China's domestic offers about RMB 6850~7000 per ton (84~86 cents/lb).

However, it is believed the ferrochrome prices would rebound very quickly as the stainless steel price rise in China.

Some Chinese buyers may also wait since both rupee and another major ferrochrome source; South African rand may drop further and hope the price may decline more.
